Caregivers receive their hourly wages directly from you when the shift ends. Be sure to confirm their preferred payment method (such as Venmo, PayPal, or similar services) in advance.
It's the family's responsibility to discuss parking arrangements and cover any associated costs if needed.
Gratuities for caregivers following their shift are always appreciated!
Professional nanny agencies excel at establishing clear expectations for in-home childcare providers, ensuring everyone understands the caregiver's duties.
During childcare hours:
Caregivers focus on providing safe, developmentally appropriate, and attentive supervision for the children in their care. Additional responsibilities can include preparing simple meals for children, cleaning up after meals, and addressing messes created by kids during the shift.
During Family Assistant hours:
These hours cover duties beyond direct child supervision. Tasks may include household laundry, preparing meals for the entire family, washing and storing family dishes, completing errands, or caring for pets.
The general guideline is that childcare hours focus on children and child-related tasks. The most important factor is establishing clear communication about your expectations and defining the caregiver's responsibilities upfront.
Feeling safe and at ease with your matched caregiver is essential. While agencies vet all caregivers through their own screening protocols before adding them to the AgencyCaregivers platform, both families and caregivers should verify they're comfortable with the arrangement before proceeding. We encourage communication between parents and caregivers prior to the appointment using our platform's group messaging feature. Either party may cancel the booking if they don't feel the match is appropriate.
Contact information, including cell phone numbers, becomes available to both families and caregivers once a booking has been confirmed.
Tip:
An effective approach when working with a new caregiver is remaining home during the initial hours or even the entire first shift. You might work from your home office within earshot, prepare meals while engaging in conversation with the caregiver, or simply observe as the caregiver builds a connection with your children. Caregivers are compensated for this time and typically understand a parent's need to be present initially to establish confidence and trust.
Agencies work hard to maintain a diverse pool of caregivers to meet various family needs. Sometimes, however, your specific requirements may not align with available caregivers at that moment. As outlined in our Terms of Use , we facilitate connections with agency-screened caregivers but cannot guarantee acceptance for every request. If your initial booking doesn't get filled, we recommend submitting requests for multiple dates. You might also consider adjusting your offered rate depending on factors like timing, date, and the number of children needing care.
Yes. The person who creates the account serves as the account administrator and has the option to add household members. The platform doesn't restrict which users an administrator can invite to their account. Please note that all Terms of Use accepted by the account administrator apply equally to every member added to the account.
Once a caregiver confirms a booking, you can communicate directly with them to arrange any modifications. Should the caregiver no longer be suitable, either the caregiver or the parent can decline the appointment, allowing us to search for an alternative match.

Agencies that provide caregivers to the AgencyCaregivers platform must satisfy specific criteria, such as holding proper licensing and insurance, operating for a minimum of one (1) year, and committing to uphold screening standards for all listed caregivers.
The vetting process encompasses several key elements: caregivers must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age, possess at least one (1) year of pertinent childcare experience, and have dependable transportation. Agencies are responsible for keeping current background checks and reference verifications, ensuring caregivers are properly categorized for accurate matching with families seeking specific expertise, along with meeting other standard qualifications. Individual agencies may enforce additional criteria. To learn more about a specific agency's screening protocols, we recommend visiting their website or using the contact details found there.
